Does anyone else feel this way?

I stopped going to college when we started ttc, because we planned on me being a stay at home mom. But I feel so judged by my family, like it's not okay for me to give up my education. Is anyone else going through this? I don't like feeling like a failure for putting my family first.

I know a few stay at home moms who completed their degree. I think it's important because of major life changes that could occur later in life and it's nice to have a back up plan. But I'm a planner, and consider all possibilities. I don't, however, plan on being a stay at home mom because of my own reasons. I also think that sometimes your family has higher expectations for you than you have for yourself especially considering that our parents generation, women going to college was rare and our grandparents, women going to college was non-existent. But if you are comfortable with your decision, it doesn't really matter what anyone says considering that they aren't paying your bills or doing your homework. Lol. Good luck and baby dust.

I'm not exactly in the same boat, but I recently decided to stay at home and leave my great but demanding job even after getting a masters degree. We are TTC now, and I was able to stop working a few months ago because my husband can support our family and I keep up with everything at home. Even without children yet it is a job just being a "homemaker"! Lol, never thought I would sound so old fashioned but whatever.

The biggest thing I learned through all of the stress, being judged, etc is that you have to take some time and really figure out what is best for you without thinking about everyone else's problems. I think it is crazy that this day and age when women finally can do anything they want and have equal rights, when you decide to stay home people will look at you like you are throwing your life away! The whole point of women's rights is that we should be able to choose whatever we want without being looked down on. I am happy to be home, and one day I may go back to work, whether it's in a few years or a decade I'm not sure. My degree may help me, or I might not use it and get a different job who knows. There will always be someone to criticize no matter what you decide. The typical questions of "what do you do all day at home?? Aren't you bored?" Or the opposite of "well don't you miss your kids? Who is even taking care of them?" Will always arise by someone.(unfortunately, and that is what I had to come to terms with)

I also stopped going to school. I got accepted into my program and everything. But things weren't clicking, ya know. I thought to myself, and then discussed it with my husband, that I really just want to be a momma!! Being a mother is a full time job in itself. We talked to our family and told them that's what we wanted to do. Huge life decision but it's what we think is best. Once you are pregnant, their tune will change. No one can be upset at (or the thought of) a baby!! Baby dust to you!! 👶💨

I made sure that I put my education first and got a decent job before ttc, it took a while to get there as I messed up university. But I know if I didn't my family would judge me, yes I know you can go back to education later on but I'd rather of just got a bit of a step up now. I know I'm financially stable to and my partner is as well.
