Did the testing give you closure?

I received a call from my doctor yesterday regarding the testing after my d&c on 12/18/15 and the good news is there were no genetic problems which would prevent my husband and I from having a healthy baby. The doctor also informed me that the baby was a boy. For me knowing the sex and obviously the "reason" for the miscarriage was a huge part in helping me move forward, however when I told my husband it was a boy he was extremely bummed out. Now instead of the closure I thought I would feel, I'm left with questioning why I lost the baby. Was it something I did or didn't do? Anyone else feel like this after the genetic testing?

I didn't have testing, but it's good to know the gender. I found that even though my baby was only 6w2d, she still had an identity, she was still a life. And I got a whole new level of healing when I named her and had closure. (We felt like she was a girl.) Also, let your SO grieve in his own way. It's easy to push it aside when it's just an 'it'. But now he has to deal with knowing that it was a boy. But that's a good thing. The more you deal with emotionally, the more healing you will get. Everyone grieves totally differently. Keep supporting each other.

I had 2 still births so of course we went right away and had every test under the sun. It did bring me closer, because now we have and answer and a plan for if we try for another baby.

I will find out the autopsy on my little boy in a week and a half and see what happens I am hoping that is not any genetic problem they find I hope it's something that couldn't have been prevented I want to make sure that once I try again that I won't have a high risk of losing my baby again I miss my little boy

I had the testing and it was a normal little boy. I'm not sure if it helped. For my husband, it made it more 'real' but the thing is, he was real. Some days I am just so numb. This blows.

I did not have testing done. For me the way I saw it, it wouldn't change anything. I lost my baby either way. We have a two year old so we know we can have a healthy baby. And my baby came out in the sac still, breaking it and having it poked and prodded would have made it worse for me. We named the baby Riley, for either a boy or a girl because we didn't find out the sex. I was 15 weeks.

I kind of felt the same way you do. My test came back normal girl. While it was comforting to know it wasn't something caused by my genetics, or my husbands; it makes me question why she didn't develop a heart beat.

I had testing it did give me closure, but I think it did because there was actually something wrong with my baby. So I knew it was a fluke. Plus it was nice to know the gender.
