Plug in the cervix

Hi my husband and I have been trying to conceive but no luck yet. This past week we found something weird kinda like a stick in the opening of the cervix. After a couple of day we realized that it has been cover...don't know what exactly. Anyways I look it up and it said that I might be pregnant. Has anyone have something similar to me ? Does it start like a stick and then it cover it self to become a plug? I love to be pregnant but it's taking us along time I'm starting to worry :( if anyone can help with their experience pls anything is welcome
