Genetic screening on momma? HELP?!

Question

My high risk specialist drew blood for a genetic screening on me..?? Will that tell me if my baby will have any genetic abnormalities, or will it just let me know about my genetic history?? I have no idea about my family history since being adopted. We never had this screening done when I was pregnant with my daughter..?!?

I had it done to check if I was a carrier for certain things that I could pass onto baby.

Genetic screening just shows what diseases/disorders you are a carrier of genetically. If you also have the fathers blood tested you will be able to find out the likelihood of anything that could effect your baby. Without knowing his history some stuff you won't be able to put a number to it but things that are recessive (I got tested for cystic fibrosis and tay-Sachs) if you are not a carrier it is impossible for the disease to be present in the baby regardless of the father's carrier status.

How old is your daughter? I have a 3 yo and genetic blood testing wasn't common practice back then. I just learned about it since being pregnant. Now everyone has the blood test as routine it seems...at least everyone I know.
