When is a great time to go in maternity leave?

I had a few people talk to me a bout maternity leave. I'm a first time mommy and I just wanted to know when is the best time.

I would start as close to your due date as possible or just wait until you go into labor. Remember your due date is just a guess. You can go over be a few weeks. You don't want to waste time off waiting to have baby instead of spending precious time with baby.

I'm a ftm too and if all goes well I rather work up until baby is due so I have more time to spend with him after he is here 😊

My girls were 11d and 14d late. The longer you wait, the more time you'll have with baby usually. It's not a fast process for a first time mom usually, so I'd say you can get away with working all the way up until you're in labor.

I would about a week before my due date. I don't want to go into labor at work!

I'm due June 5th and plan on working till the first of June unless he decides to come before. I'm a cma and waitress

I have two jobs - I'm a server and also work retail at a pet boutique. I'm going to stop serving at the end of May (I'm due 6/30) and keep working retail as long as I can. I have a few trips to go on at the end of May, and lots of preparations to make in June.

Im going to wait till I'm about due Lol, some people tell me to wait until I'm almost due (which is the plan) and others think that I am crazying and think I should take it a month or two before hand. But the decision is ultimately your choice unless your Ob takes you off sooner

It's really up to you and your doctor.  I worked up until 4 days before my due date.   My boss scrotal called me in to his office and told me to go home.  Lol he has two little girls and since it was middle of winter he didn't want me to slip on the ice outside.   They were very gracious about it and most people didn't think I would make it past thanksgiving being at work.  Due date was Jan 14th.   I sat at home for 8 more days!  Nesting period was already there so my house was clean organized everything was ready.  I was bored lol.   Baby was 4 days late.

Currently in working for a new employer and I'm 20 weeks pregnant.  I plan on working up till about my due date.  It helps to stay busy and active than sitting at home.   Good luck!

I will be working up until I go into labor, but I work from home which makes that a whole lot easier.
