Which birth control is best ?

I'm debating on trying birth control and I've seen a few of the side effects. Some girls grew body hair . My friend breast size increased . She say her breast hurts her a lot and they swell up as well. I've seen a few girls gain weight and I've seen some drop weight. Plus , my menstrual cycle is irregular. I haven't been on since April 2015. So can birth control regulate it as well ?
