Possible Down Syndrome

We went to our appointment today and didn't get much new news. They were able to tell us that they didn't see any neural tube defects on the scan which is good, that was our biggest worry. But they did find some soft markers for down syndrome: small long bones and nasal bone. They didn't find the extra skin behind baby's neck so that's good I suppose. We decided to do an amniocentesis and they will give us some quick results within 48 hours and the rest of the results in 10 days. Lil one is stubborn and won't uncross his legs for us to see boy or girl. He gave the techs such a hard time to get measurements, baby refused to move positions. And yet lil one is curious because as they were doing the amniocentesis we watched his little hand come onto the screen and play with the needle. All in all it was a hard day, I just want my beautiful baby to have what every other child gets. I get that kids with ds live wonderful lives but it's just not normal lives and it's tough knowing my little one will learn early that life is never fair.
