Shave first time you went to a obgyn?

I heard the first time you see a obgyn they do a sonogram with a camera in your vagina. Just wondering what you ladies did.

Do what makes you feel comfortable! They are used to seeing everything, it's their job. So nothing shocks them :) so do as you would do on a regular basis. If that's shave trim or all natural!

I've never had an ultrasound on a normal yearly exam. They do a scrape on your cervix but that's it. Unless they suspect something then they may do an ultrasound. You don't have to shave if you don't usually shave as that will cause lots of irritation down there. Any OB will tell you they've seen hundreds of hoohahs and everyone is different! Just make sure to clean extra good down there a couple days before your exam. Good luck!

Lol... I went in with a forest... I just don't like shaving and I've read bad things about shaving and infections and stuff like that. But she covered me from my waist to my knees and just stuck her hand with the thing up between my legs... She didn't see a thing.

A transvaginal ultrasound your covered up, and they don't even look at you, so I don't think it matters if your shaven or not.

I got an internal sonogram because they didn't know how far along I was but other than that they have been sonograms on the abdominal

It's not a camera it's a sonar wand that transmits high frequency sound waves to see your internal organs (just info that's good to know) and I shaved, it jut made me feel clean.

For a normal exam (not pregnancy)? No. They do a pelvic, a Pap smear, and possibly take blood to screen for STDs and general things like anemia. They'll do an ultrasound if they're looking for cysts or something abnormal. But for an annual exam, nope.
