Identicals out there?

Hi everyone! We found out we were having twins a couple months ago, which took some getting used to! Recently they confirmed that they're identical girls. I'm having a hard time getting used to the idea of identical. I get very emotional about it some days and am fine with it the next. Did any of you having identicals feel a little bummed at the beginning?

Yes I'm having identical boys.. I've only ever wanted two kids.. A boy & girl. My first pregnant was fraternal boy & girl but I lost them bc of preterm labor.. So finding out I was having twins again I was hoping for one of each.. I was kinda sad at first.. To a woman having a little girl means a lot.. Boys are special too. But it's getting to do all of the girly stuff.. I cry sometimes bc I think if my daughter would of made it.. Just a week away from viability. Her & my son. I think of all the firsts I'll never get with her.. It's hard but as my boys grow & move around inside me I've grown to love them deeply already. But yes I think feeling the way you do is just human..

For what it's worth, there was a time in my life when I couldn't ever imagine being a mother. I thought I would be some high powered HR person. I got my Masters degree, and while I was finishing it, I met my husband. Now, I am a stay at home mom. I have an 8yr old son of the heart (his bio mom moved out of state when he was 3), we have a 4yr old daughter, an almost 1.5yr old son, and I am currently pregnant with twins. Life rarely goes the way you expected; but I promise, when those babies come, you will see that life turned out exactly the way it was supposed to. I am often overwhelmed knowing we will have 5 children (all planned pregnancies); but then I see pictures of newborn twins and I get all gushy and realize how incredibly happy and blessed we are.

I found out I was having identical twins 12 weeks ago and then found out they were boys 8 weeks ago and I'm still feeling a bit depressed and crushed about it. It's just not something I had ever imagined for my life and people keep saying it's not the end of the world, but to me, it's the end of the world I had imagined for myself. I really only ever wanted to have 2 kids and I really wanted to have at least one girl. So my dreams are crushed! I feel bad because my husband and everyone else is super excited and I'm just not. I know I'll love my boys once they're here but I'll always feel disappointed I don't have my little girl. And I know I should be thankful for 2 healthy babies but I can't help the way I feel.
