My Mateo is 1 month old πŸ’™

Ariel β€’ Married to the love of my life for 8 years❀️ Have a Baby Boy 12/28/15 πŸ’™ & expecting 9/7/18 πŸ’›
Yesterday he turned 1 month old πŸ’™ this 1st month had its challenges. Being born at 39w4d by scheduled c section due to being breech & not turning at 37w4d. I got the shock of my life when they called out his weight 5lbs 7oz. I measured perfect my entire pregnancy. His sonograms were always accurate & I was actively TTC for the past 5 years so I know the date of conception. But apparently if you're under 5lbs 8oz at full term your baby is considered "low birth weight". He had to go to the NICU because these kinds of babies being tiny have an extra hard time of keeping their body temp up. Then we had a blood incompatibility. (He has my husbands blood type) so more tests & him being jaundice. Left the hospital finally at a whopping 5lbs even. Lots of doctors appointments testing & checking to see if his bilirubin would go down. (It did) & then at 10 days old my gut said bring him in somethings wrong. My ped confirmed and called 911. Took an ambulance to the closest ER & they confirmed. RSV positive. Took another ambulance to a children's hospital. As a FTM I had no idea what RSV was all I knew was the nurse when I delivered kept mentioning being sick. My dad then got sick who have it to my mother & then to me. So I passed on my cold to my baby. Way to feel like mother of the year! Because low birth weight babies also have little lungs and respiratory problems... It took us 12 days in the PICU before we finally got to go home. Longest 12 days of life. Hospital was an hour away and we live near no family so we had to switch nights being with him because we had dogs at home. His 1st night I spiked a fever & my husband sent me home saying I needed to rest. Leaving ur 10 day old in the hospital made me hysterical. I even got my section infected while being there. It was insanely trying. He's now better & a whopping 6lbs 12oz. & even though my ped keeps pushing that he's in the 0% percentile I'm proud he's thriving considering all he's been through. I honestly can't wait to see what month 2 has for us. Hopefully better days πŸ’™
