What would you do?

Question

I have a coworker who, she and I became pregnant around the same time. I am still with child, but she sadly miscarried. She had been trying for a very long time and was going through treatments when she conceived.

A long time ago, I also struggled with infertility. So anyways, here is my question. I really want to invite her to my baby shower, but I don't know if it's appropriate or how to approach the situation.

When I was going through infertility, I wanted to be a part of my girlfriends celebrations, but everyone is different.

I don't want to hurt her feelings.

I would personally ask her. Let her know you wanted to discuss it with her in person and make sure she is doing ok. Let her know that its ok if she doesnt want to go.

I would ask her in person and just explain to her that you wanted to invite her but would completely understand if she didn't want to go and that you don't want her to feel obligated if she will be uncomfortable.

Me and my sister in law were preg at the same time three years ago :/ its tough to watch my niece sometimes I'll think and wonder what our little one should have been like they would have only my been a week apart. I get emotional. I would just talk and ask her about it I'm sure she will understand and appriaciate you thinking about her in that way

I would give her the option of going.  She will feel some kind of way one way or another. But this way, she is included and the decision is hers. When and if you do invite her, do it one on one face to face and let her know you understand this is super hard for her, but you still wanted to include her.
