Early labor

I'm 38 weeks pregnant and been having contractions 3 mins apart I stayed in the hospital last night to be monitored but I was only 1 cm dialated. I'm going on 3 days with contractions they aren't that strong but on the hospitals monitor they were picking up really strong. Is it normal that I'm not feeling them as strong as they are and has anyone else had contractions for days without dilating? Sorry I'm just very exhausted and even though they aren't that strong it's still keeps me up.
