Swaddling baby?

I really don't know the advantages and disadvantages of swaddling/not swaddling baby? Is it something I should do or not?

My son hated it. Everyone who visited would swaddle him and then wonder why he would cry when they held him lol. I didn't swaddle him at all which was good since he ended up being a tummy sleeper anyway.

It really depends on the baby. My first loved to be swaddled. It would calm him instantly if he was fussy.
My second HATED it! He never wanted any kind of cover on his arms. He would scream at me if I swaddled him.

The hospital nurses showed my hubby how to swaddle and my little guy loved it- since they recommend sleeping on their backs I think swaddling makes them feel more secure. Stop swaddling once they can roll over on their own!

It depends on the baby. My son loved being swaddled and he had to sleep that way. My daughter would scream bloody murder if you even tried to swaddle her. Its comforting to some and not others.

All my 3 kids hated being swaddled, but my friend was swaddling her son till he was 2 😳

I am pregnant with my third child. In my experience with my first 2, swaddling was only soothing in the first month or so of their lives. After that they didn't want to be swaddled at all. I think it depends on the baby. Your baby may feel comforted by it or may not like it at all.
