Epidural yay or nay?

I always wanted to go through labor and delivery without an epidural but every time I tell someone this they look at me like I'm insane. So now I'm scared to get an epidural and to not get one. Just wondering what y'all's experiences have been.

I think you just kinda have to go with how you feel once you're in labor. I've done it both ways & I don't think one was better than the other.

I think you should get educated about both, and then see what happens. You don't have to decide now, or even when labor for starts. See how it goes and don't let anybody judge for you for your decisions.For reasons I cannot fathom society seems to really enjoy telling pregnant woman how much it's going to hurt to deliver babies. As if we didn't realize, or might have somehow missed this information.

Do what YOU want. My mom wanted an all natural and unmedicated labor. Everyone worked her up to be nuts and its just so impossible and unbearable, blah blah blah. Well, she had me and my brother with no issues. Yes it hurt. No it didn't tickle while pushing an 8 pounder through her vag, but she said it was NOWHERE near as painful as people made it out to be. She was terrified and scared up until actually having me. I'm planning for no epidural and I'm terrified. I reallyyyy hope I have a similar level of pain tolerance as my mom. The idea of getting an epidural freaks me out and I do not want to get one at all, ever.

Do what you want to do! I got an epidural asap and will do it again! Birth is not meant to be pain free but it's an amazing experience either way!

Honestly, I'd be willing to gamble with some of those risks because of my intense fear of child birth, BUT an epidural doesn't even guarantee a painless delivery.

Idc what anybody says. I've had an epidural with both of my kids and my kids are just fine. So I will be getting another with this one as well. Every woman's body is different so we will all have different experiences

I educated myself on both. I'm opting on using natural birthing techniques (the Bradley Method). 
The way I look at it is that you can't cheat nature. There will most likely be discomfort either way (I've read about painless natural birth though). Epidurals have long term effects on your body.

There are so many benefits to doing to without an epidural! Don't let the scare you, do your research and make the best decision for you and your baby. And if it makes you feel better, when you get an epidural they usually have to give you pitocin to stimulate contractions and pitocin contractions actually hurt more than natural ones which could be why those ladies are giving you the wide eyes! Haha
