Nuvaring and condom?

Question

Do most people that use the nuvaring also use a condom? I've been on it for over a month and the last two times my bf and I had sex I didn't make him use one. It's supposed to be 99% effective and I've been using it perfectly. What do other people do?

What ?!? Where did you hear this? I've been on the Nuva ring 8+ years (2 of which with my husband) if you have multiple partners or are not in monogamous relationship there should be zero question about using a condom!!!! Protect yourself!!!! But if your monogamous partner has been tested and you also have been - and your truly monogamous, a condom isn't needed if you use the Nuva ring AS DIRECTED!!

But. It's the first month you are not protected as the Nuva ring can take upto a month to be effective

It caused me alot of bacterial infections and itritation from the hormone being directly inside of me... But when we did get intimate i didnt make him
