Identical or fraternal?

my doctor said they can't know if the babies are identical or fraternal until birth with separate sacks and placentas. How did you guys find out? Or are you guessing?

White is baby, light blue is sac, and dark blue is placenta! Hope this helps!

So your twins are di/di for sure with seperate sacs and placentas. Most likely they are fraternal but there is a small chance for them to be identical. The only way you're going to be able to tell is after they are born with a dna test!

When I was 25 weeks they saw that my boys shared a placenta but in there own sacs.  Mono/di boys . My boys look so much alike they are identical. They are 1 n its still a little hard to tell them apart. Good luck

What happens is if the egg splits super early after fertilization you can get identical di/di twins. Obviously if they are different sexes they are fraternal but if they are the same sex a lot of people do a DNA test after they are born to see if they are identical or fraternal.

Our girls are di di. We won't know until they are born if they are identical or not. They most likely are fraternal, but we'll do a DNA test to be sure.

Isn't it determined by the placenta as they can be in the same sac but have a placenta each?

So weird, my ultrasound tech told me mine where identical because of them being in the same sac.
