How does the doc know if baby is head down or not?

If you don't get any more ultrasounds after 20 weeks, how do they know?

They press (quite hard) on your tummy and can feel them. It's quite uncomfortable for you but doesn't hurt baby at all.

My doctor had me lay back on the table and he could feel it by pressing in different areas on my stomach. Plus when I got checked for dilation, he could feel her head.

They can feel where the baby is by palpating your abdomin and also by where the heartbeat is. They know if the baby is growing at a good rate by measuring the fundal height. I had a growth scan at 29wks due to being high risk but that isn't necessarily normal. Insurance won't pay for an ultrasound unless its medically necessary.

I agree. I've been worried as well because I'm carrying low and it seems like my daughter is always in my vagina. Also I want to make sure she is still growing right.
