Glucose test- do you have to be fasting?

Do you know if you have to be fasting before you do glucose test? I should get it done today. Had breakfast at 9am. Could I go at 11am?

Depends on your doctor. I had to fast and it wasn't that bad. You just get a major sugar rush lol

I was told I could eat just to avoid sugary foods before I took mine.

I was told to have a big protein breakfast.....n then go in but jus water to drink. Weird cuz my last pregnancies I had to b fasting so alots changed since 2013...

My doctor gave me a paper that said I could fast or eat something very light I just went in as soon as our lab opened up and drank the drink and sat their for an hour and they haven't called me and that was this last Tuesday I'm assuming I passed ?

My 1hr test was nonfasting...which I fasted unintentionally and failed.  I now have to have the 3 hr test and that is fasting.

My doctor's office gave me a printout with the drink bottle that said what I can eat. You definitely want to check with your dr but mine said a "protein breakfast" of eggs, meat, cheese, and water only.

It totally depends on your Dr and how they're reading the test. Some require fasting, some don't. Call to make sure.

This is my 3rd baby. My first 2 I was required to fast (this was 7-8 years ago), now I am told I don't have to. Just nothing too sweet before I go in! Thank goodness!! :)

I had to stop eating before midnight and i had to finish the drink by 8 am. But since your appointment is later in the day, I'm really not sure how that works.
