Does anyone else dislike Valentines Day?

I just think it's really corny and I hate being told to "celebrate" our love on a certain day. I don't know, maybe it's just me lol

I love Valentine's Day. Sure it's cheesy, but is it any cheesier than any other holiday? St patty's day and green beer, dressing up as shit we're not on Halloween, eating turkey to celebrate how people stole the land from the natives. I mean, I guess all holidays are dumb if you look at it like that, call me dumb then...cause I love holidays. It's all in fun and I'm not the fun police.

I got married on Valentines Day so for us it's so much more. Celebrating 4 years this Valentine's!

I think it's a waste of time and money. I'd rather go out with my husband for a lunch while the kids are at school then get all dolled up to go sit in a fancy restaurant and wait for hours for our overpriced food while paying some teenager $10+ /hr to sit on my couch and play on her phone while my kids sleep.

I don't dislike it. I just don't care about it at all. I think if you love someone you should express that love in ways that they push on Valentines day any time. It shouldn't just be one day out of the year because it was set aside for that reason.

I don't mind Valentine's Day... If you don't like it, don't celebrate. Personally I think it's totally commercialized but that's why my husband and I stay in for a romantic night together. Of course we express how much we love each other yr round, but on Valentine's it's just a little more special. It's like that one perfect date night we get to have to really show how much we appreciate, love, and are devoted to each other. We make sure to make that time to be together (bc our lives are busy with work, and multiple kids in multiple sports)
The past couple of Valentine's I've cooked a beautiful gourmet meal and we eat by candlelight... Then we exchange little tokens (nothing extravagant, just sth thoughtful)  and then we either snuggle and watch a favorite movie or take it upstairs 😉. For the past few Valentine's I made him love books (the first was a story about how we met and the second about our time together).... Is it cheesy? Kind of... Is it worth it seeing his eyes sparkle when they look at me like I hold the key to his heart and innermost desires? Hell yes!!!
