Popping your cherry.

The other day my boyfriend was fingering me and I started to bleed. At first we didn't think it was a lot or anything of it then he continued and it became a really heavy flow. He said he had a small puddle in his hand. I'm a virgin and had thought one of my ex boyfriends had already popped it, and didn't start my period. But I read somewhere that it could have only been torn a little and not completely popped. So I guess I'm just asking to see what your guys experience was with you cherry popping, like a lot of blood or what.
