Short period...

I had a short period this month (typically 5 days, this was 2 days) had pretty good bleeding for 2 days but no clots like usual.... then it's just spotted since, my question is, has anyone encountered this before? I've never had my period do this and I'm just confused. We are ttc and I'm baffled...
