Pp bleeding..

How long does the bright red blood last? I had a c section and it had slowed down in the hospital but when I got home it picked back up. Is it because I'm pumping/breastfeeding? I'm also currently battling an infection ABOVE my incision, the incision itself looks great, so could that be a reason?? I had an appt yesterday where we found out it was an infection but I forgot to ask about the bleeding.
