I was dating the father of my child till I was about 5 months he started acting different so we broke up now we don't speak at all then he went and got a new girlfriend but a few days ago he said he wanted to be their for labor and delivery. Has anyone else been through this.? Should I forgive him even though I'm still hurt.?

Will having him there be a comfort to you or a stressor? You really want to surround yourself with positive energy and lots of love and support during labor. If he wants to be there for YOU and will get and feed you ice chips, massage your back, tell you can can do this as he wipes your brow, and support your decisions and advocate for you then that sounds like a great idea. If he wants to be there for him then no. Because it's not about him. 🙂

I would allow him to be there. With my first I didn't let her father in the room because we had broken up early pregnancy, and looking back now I wish I would have let him experience that regardless of my feelings for him. It was his baby too

I would allow him to be there. Especially if he is going to be a part of the child's life. It's his baby too and without him you wouldn't have this precious gift. It may be nice to have someone there with you, too.

It depends. If he's going to make you feel better by being there then sure. If not I'd let him in as soon as baby comes. Like baby comes out, daddy comes in to cut the cord etc. no need to have him sit there and stress you out during your labor.

I would NOT allow him to be there. YOU are the one doing the labor and delivery, you need to be as relaxed and comfortable as possible. He hasn't cared to be there for half of your pregnancy, so what's the big deal if he waits until after you're through the hardest part to meet the baby. My friend went though this, and she told the father he could meet the baby a couple days after he was born.

I haven't been with my sons father since about 4-5 months. We talk maybe two times a month. He will text to see how things are going. Ive done a lot of thinking about allowing him in the delivery room.. And it just comes down to that it's his child also..I can't say for sure if he will be there after the baby is born but I feel as its his child also he should have the right to be in the delivery room if he so chooses. Now what happens after is all on him!

Why don't you let him, his the father . Don't show that idiot that breaking up with him is hard on you, it's his child and I believe you shouldn't keep a child from their father. Let him see you go throw that, let him see what you are sacrificing, what you gonna go throw to deliver that baby. Let him be there to witness first hand of what pains really means. I wasn't with my babies father but I let him be there and he cried like a little child. And he thanked me for giving birth to his son. Don't worry he can't take you to court because he won't win but be the bigger personal and let him into your child's life because kids need there father's.

I think that if you don't feel comfortable enough to have him there during the actual labor, to allow him to wait in waiting room and come see baby shortly after delivery. I could see why you might not want him there, but I feel like its important for dad to get to bond too.

I went thru this with my first child and I had people run him off from the hospital simply because he chose not to be there, text, call or even ask about Dr appts so I felt that after going thru the whole pregnancy by myself why should he be there for the important part!
