Maternity leave??

Question

When is too early for "early" maternity leave?? I have a dr appointment next wensday, I'll be 36 weeks and 4 days..I'm struggling to get up most days because I'm so exhausted from work, and picking up the house!! Is 36 weeks to early to go on leave? :/

I don't know what state your in, but in NJ you get 4 weeks before birth and 6-8 weeks after paid maternity leave. My 1st I went on short term disability at 29 weeks for complications, 2nd I worked until 37 weeks. Talk to your doctor he/she can basically write you out whenever, especially if your this far along.

I'm 38 I'm working "light duty" I just want to be home much as possible before returning. I'm a transporter in the hospital I did the till I was 32 weeks. Now I'm helping out in a surgery center my last day of work is next Thursday bc I'll be induced on the 22 and I only wrk 4 days a week so I get to start few days early

In California short term disability leave  can be taken starting at 36 weeks without any special issues (earlier if doctor advises)

I was put on light duty today! Im 32 weeks and this morning my baby was really low to the point i couldn't sit straight.. i have dr appt tomorrow hopefully she tells me im good to go till im at leats 35-36 weeks

My doc took me out at 36+2 because I sell cars and walking the lot was causing me to swell.
