Would you report domestic violence

Would you make a police report against your boyfriend if his mom was a police officer and threatened you if you did. Would you call the police I'm scared hurt and crying I blocked everything out but it all came back tonight all the abuse and hurt. I feel humiliated how do I explain myself.
