Registry?

So Im due in late June and I don't know if Im having a baby shower. Well my boyfriend told me it would be planned by his family but I don't know when the planning will start (if it'll even happen). I don't care for a baby shower but I was wondering, should I start making a registry in case or is it too early to start one? I don't even know where to start but would like advice on timing!
