Used breastpump??

My sister in law just had a baby and only used her breast pump for about a week. Would it be safe for me to use it when my baby gets here in 6 months? Is there any way to clean it thoroughly?

I would have zero worries about using a used one from a family member for a week. You can wash all the parts and get replacement tubes if you're concerned.

Thank you all for your comments. We bought it for them and it was a pretty nice pump so it would be nice to already have that taken care of instead of having to look for another

If you have insurance just go to edgepark.com fill in your info it's so easy I did it and not even a whole week later my free medela pump was at my door. I think using the used one in this case is fine though since you can replace the tubes and you know who used it and for how long.

The only problem with a used pump is the warranty is no longer good unless she calls it in. Otherwise, do it. But you know most insurance companies will give you one for free!!! You just have to call.
