Sick mom and toddler... help!

For the past 2 weeks, my 3 year old has been sick off and on. The dr said its just a virus, keep him hydrated, etc. He has white spots on his throat and tonsils, and is now breaking out in a very light rash that doesn't itch or hurt, with no fever. He's acting like his normal little self. Well, now I'm congested, coughing, and have white spots on my tonsils. I don't have a rash, other than normal old winter itching, and no fever. Should I go to the dr, or assume that this is a sinus infection? What should I take? (I'm only about 4 weeks, 4 days. )
