Nervous & Anxious

I have been TTC for months now, & this month I haven't gotten my period, I'm 3 days late I was supposed to start on the 10th of February, my periods are usually right on point the only symptom i have been is having tender breast but no other signs of PMS. When would be the appropriate time to take a pregnancy test, I don't wanna take one too early & get my hopes up. Someone enlighten me please? 😅
