I think I found a clinic!
There is so much fat stigma and the one clinic in my city doesn't treat over a BMI of 35. This was extremely upsetting as I'm sure you can imagine. The next closest clinics are 5 and a half hours away but luckily there are several that don't have a BMI policy and they actually allow you to make your own choices by informing you of the risks etc. That said IVF will always be BMI restricted as they are not performed at a hospital and there is an increased risk with breathing that may require intubation and they are unwilling to take that chance, maybe some clinics do it at a hospital and maybe I can get it done if I need it but likely they will force me to lose weight. I had come to terms with that a long time ago what really pissed me off was that they wouldn't even give me hormonal supplements if I required them unless I lost 50 pounds. That is really stupid in my opinion and dangerous, to me refusing to treat us is irresponsible and likely leads to more deaths and complications just like with illegal abortion. If the only way for me to get help getting pregnant was to be anorexic until I lost the weight I would and a woman should not be put in that position as it is even more unhealthy than just treating me as is. Then there are back alley clinics so to speak that women go to out of desperation and I am sure you know where I am going with this. Luckily I found a clinic and they have a system in place for out of town patients. I am actually hopeful now that I will actually have a baby and I just wanted to share that.
