Why do baby showers cause so much drama?  My mom told me yesterday she had booked tickets to come to mine here in CA next weekend (she threw me one on the east coast where I'm from in Jan). My college bestie is hosting this one and loves that my mom is going to come and help. I'm out of work due to hypertension so having some adult company will be nice. My husband flipped bc we weren't consulted first and will have a house full of people that weekend. Ok I can see his point but we fixed it by her getting a hotel the two nights our house will be full. My MIL is upset bc she wanted it to hubbys family - here's the thing - she told us it was too much trouble to throw a shower hence why my friend is doing it so therefore I told him she has no say in who comes and who doesn't. If she wanted to control the guest list, she could have thrown it. Also his family is super small - like maybe his parents and a cousin are coming. The rest are our friends and my mom's cousin and her daughter who live out here.  She apparently even threatened to stay home and not come - ok if that's how you feel go for it. So does not help someone who already has high blood pressure!  And we're supposed to go see them this weekend. Praying my doc says I should stay home!
