Birth Control

so, my periods have been irregular since the day I started, but I think it's time to hop off that irregular train. I'm going to the DR. to figure out what exactly is my problem down there. I honestly feel like they will put me on birth control. Iva always been pro-medicine, but the thought of taking birth control made me uneasy. I had heard a lot of negative things and how it could cause blood clots, liver damage, and really screw up your reproductive system. I really want a family, so I didn't want to mess that up. I have also heard some positive side effects. I really would love to know your opinion and what you take / took or what form of BC. Thank you!!
