When do you get your first ultrasound?

I'm 4 weeks and 4 days and I have my first doctor app in 10 days. What will she check? Is it just an ecography or ultrasound too?

Usually they won't do anything before 8 weeks unless there's another medical reason. They're too little to see much. I went to my first meeting at 8w and they gave me a slip to get one done before my next appointment at 10w just for dating.

It depends on the doctor. My first appointment was just getting a lot of requisitions. I had to go for bloodwork and she gave me the paperwork for the ultrasounds. My doctor told me not to book my first ultrasound before 7 weeks. They are still pretty small st that point but can usually detect a heartbeat.
