Thyroid
Do any mommas have thyroid issues? Hyper or hypo.. After having my daughter 6 years ago, I was diagnosed with "sub clinical postpartum thyroiditis". I was hypo. After checking my levels again 6 weeks later they were normal. I was still having "symptoms" so I went to an endocrinologist and she checked my levels. Slightly hypo again so I started a thyroid medication. Within a few days I had terrible anxiety and she checked them again and they were normal, so she took me off them. After that I had them checked periodically for a year, and they were always normal. She also checked my antibodies and said I had hoshimotos but said they don't treat it unless your other levels are off, which they weren't. Since they were always where they should be, I stopped going, plus I lost my health insurance. My OB checked my TSH when I had all my blood work at my first appointment and it was good. I had explained the history, and because the blood work came back fine he had no concerns. Do I have him keep rechecking due to the history (even though it was 5-6 years ago)? I think I've read it's mostly a concern in the first trimester. I see him next week. What are your thoughts?
