Is it not safe to eat tuna ?

My doctor said yes but no more than once a week and it should be the tuna light kind which apparently has less Mercury

This is from the book Expecting Better regarding foods Omega 3 levels vs mercury levels. You can eat tuna but there are better options (canned salmon for ex if you want the convenience). Eating fish is really good for you during pregnancy so don't be scared of it. 😊

A lot of seafood/fish is totally fine to eat! I eat one tuna sandwich a week. White fish and salmon is okay, as well as shellfish. Just stay away from tuna steaks, mahi mahi, swordfish, and other large fish that are high in mercury.

You can eat about 1 can a week. That's what my doc said.

I know it's not good to eat it out of the can. I've just avoided it all together. I've avoided most seafood due to the high levels of mercury.
