Do you know your blood type?

Okay so my question/concern is, that my blood type and my husbands blood type are effecting us getting pregnant...is there any women with type A- and men type A+ have children? Did you have to do anything special???? Please help!!!!

I am b- and my husband is O+
I have 3 children. My first was a miscarriage. I get the shot if there is any bleeding In pregnancy, at 28 weeks and after birth. The shot doesn't help you get pregnant. It just stops the antibodies from attacking the baby if there is a chance of blood types mixing. All my children are o+ like their father. I got the shot 4 times with my daughter because I bled twice, and I got it at 28 weeks and after I had her. I never had an issue getting pregnant and I never worried about it. It's just routine for me to know to go to the hospital if I bleed in any way to just get the shot

Blood type doesn't prevent pregnancy. If you're negative it just means they'll give you the Rhogam shot at 28 weeks, and once again after birth if the baby is positive. That way your body won't try to harm a future child if the positive blood mixed with yours from baby during birth or pregnancy. Other than that it has nothing to do with conception. My mom had 13 kids, one of them stillborn due to being kicked in the stomach at 8 months, and they had multiple fathers, she's negative and all but one of the dad's is positive, so it doesn't affect conception.

I have negative blood type & my husband has positive. I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant so no, that shouldn't interfere with your chances of getting pregnant. When you do get pregnant, you'll have to get a shot at 28 weeks (it's quick and painless).

I am A+ & my SO is B+ I think, so we got pretty lucky. But I do know what you mean.

I'm A- and my husband is B+. You have to get a shot around 26-28 weeks (the Rhogam shot) and then if your baby is a positive (in my case my son is AB+) you have to get another shot after delivery. It's nothing special really.

Yes I know exactly what you're talking about. Your body will try to fight off the antibodies if you have A- and your baby has A+.   The first child will be fine but the second pregnancy is when your body tries to fight it off like you are having an allergic reaction. So that's why OBGYN offices will do lab work from the get go and if so they just have you take a prescription.

It is possible to have a problem with blood types effecting pregnancy. The problem is when you become sensitized to D (Rh factor) and form an antibody called anti-D. This shouldn't effect conception however, but can result in multiple future miscarriages. Rhogam is given to pregnant women to help prevent them from becoming sensitized. If Rhogam is not given, or you are exposed another way (Given Rh positive blood via transfusion in an emergency, bleeding during pregnancy that you are unaware of via a fall and don't go to the Dr and get the shot ect.) you may become sensitized.

You shouldn't have a problem unless you've had a previous pregnancy where you became sensitized to + blood. The first one should be fine, and should not have any bearing on conception. I'm A- and my husband is O+. This is our first, and I'll be getting rhogam shots as preventative to sensitization.
