The business of being born
I just watched this documentary on Netflix and my mind In blown by the statistics!! Very informative and just beautiful! I cried several times at the awe aspect of it all. I truly believe our bodies know what they are doing during labor. I'm a mom of 2, this is my 3rd pregnancy. My first, I was 17 and scared for all different reasons, I just did what my doctor told me. Water broke, hospital, epidural, push, baby. My 2nd I was 25, and wanted to do it all natural (no drugs) but I caved because it was my due date and still no baby, so I was induced. No pain meds till I felt like I was going to die at 7cm. Everything went fast after the epidural and baby was out and healthy. Now a year later, I'm 16 weeks and I really want to go for it and try to make it without pain meds. Especially since this is possibly my last baby. My doctor is supportive but still has that "In and Out" mentality. I thought about a home birth or birthing center but my insurance won't cover either. My option is to try to labor at home as long as possible. Any advice? Or thoughts? What is your plan? No rude comments please.
