Meconium testing?

I've heard some places do it, some don't. I've also heard it shows anything from 20 weeks on, but I've seen that meconium begins to produce at 16 weeks or so. I'm so confused lol what's the right information?

I know this was posted awhile ago, but figured someone might see!
My baby had her meconium tested. I read that it only really ever happens if they aspirate/ end up in the nicu. I was actually very angry because I did not know or consent to that testing

A lot of babies don't pass their meconium until they are home, I've never heard of it being tested

What is meconium testing and why would you need to test it? I'm 36 weeks and have never heard of it.
