Birth photography?

I keep seeing people with these amazing pictures at the hospital. Pictures of the clock when the baby is born, the first bonding of baby and mom, mom and dad holding hands during labor, Doctor first holding up baby after birth etc. How is everyone getting these? Is it a friend/family member with some awesome photography skills or are people hiring a photographer for this?
