Does anyone have comments on the birth control implant?

I'm thinking about getting the implant, and I want to hear stories or side effects of real people who used it. Did you like it? Do you still use it? Did your insurance cover it? Did it make you gain weight? All of that kind of stuff

Get paraguard iud..its the one without hormones. You don't need the extra! That's when your body has adjusting to do when you add hormones.. paraguard i promise :)

I get the one in my arm it worked fantastic lasts for three years. No side effects for me every woman is different

I had it for almost a year. Around 5 months in I miscarried and that's how I found out I was pregnant. I also gained weight, my period lasted for weeks on end and when I didn't have my period I would still get weird discharges. I wouldn't recommend to anyone, personally.

I had the nexplanon for a year and a half. My periods become farther apart but did last a day or two longer but they were short to begin with. Never got heavier really though like with some people . Didn't have any side effects really. So nice to not have to think about it for 3 years. Only took it out cause my hubby and I are ttc now. Different things work for different people though.

My sister had the mexplenon shot in her arm for 8 months, she had ridiculously long, heavy periods at this time as well as lots of pain in her pelvic/abdominal area like she'd be on her period for 2/3 weeks out of a month. Once she realized that this wasn't normal she went to her doctor and had some tests ran, they took the implant out, but something still wasn't right so she went back and they did more tests, long story short she now has a cist on her ovary and they're not removing it because it's too small blah blah blah she's still in pain now

I had the mirena IUD. I don't feel like it messed with my hormones at all; no mood swings or weight gain. I still got my period it was just short and light but always on schedule. I liked it bc it was the only bc I ever really felt protected with. But I noticed I got a lot of utis during my time of having it in and Idk if that was a matter of coincidence or bc of it.
