First appointment?

I called this AM and scheduled my first appointment with the OB/GYN. I told them I took an hpt last week and it was positive. They didn't ask when my last period was like I expected them to (I've been reading about calling and what to expect!) They scheduled me for March 14. I'll only be 6 weeks. What will happen at this appointment and should my husband go? Obvious first timer here!
