Csection or vaginal birth?

Question

How many ladies have had a csection and gone on to have a natural birth??

My doctor told me I couldn't have a natural birth after having a csection because it would kill me and could give the baby brain damage..

By the time this baby is due it will be about 3 years since my csection.. Opinions and help ladies!!

I'd see another doctor, vaginal birth is safer and a vbac doesn't hold big risk if your pregnancy is healthy. For that doctor to scare you like that, it's ridiculous. That's not even sound information. That doctors only motivation to use those words is to deter you from making your own informed decision about how you want to bring your baby into the world. Vaginal or cesarean, shouldn't matter as long as it's what you want.

I had a c-section with my first baby, and my doctor is all for me trying VBAC. She told me there were possible risks, but that it was my decision. I am due 3 months before my first baby's 4th birthday. I don't understand why a doctor would say that you would die? As far as I was told, the only way you'd HAVE to go C-section is if you've already had 2 or more C-sections.

I had a c-section 8.5 years ago and our doctor is ok with us going for VBAC.  A frievd of ours had 2 c-sections and 3 vbac after that.  I would see another doctor.

Baby #1 was a c-section, Baby #2 was a natural hospital VBAC, Baby #3 was a c-section. Baby #4 we are hoping for a natural home water birth (VBA2C) 😎. Not options carry risks I have done my reader h and comfortable with my risks if I labor and try to deliver vs my risk of another repeat c-section. Many hospitals frown on VBACs which can make it hard on the mom to choose what's best for her & the baby thanks to scare tactics.

I had a csection with my son and my doctor won't allow a vbac with this one and that was 8 years ago... I had the csection bc the cord was wrapped around his neck twice!

This is my first child but... My mom had a csection with my older brother and vaginal with me and my little brother and that was back in the 90s so I don't see what to problem would be

Why would your doctor say that you would die? That's extreme. Which leads me to wonder why you had a c section in the first place. 
I had a c section with my first b/c he was breech. I plan on vbac with this one. My doctor was just fine with that.

If you don't mind me asking, why did you have a c section with the first? Certain complications can make vbac risky to attempt...so may that's the reason your doctor doesn't want you to do it?

I had a csection & then vbac two years later. My csection was due to epidural complications so I hired a doula and had a vbac without meds. I know the doula was the reason for the successful vbac.

I'm not really sure why a doctor would tell you you'd die but the possibility of having a VBAC also depends on the way your uterus ( not the outside) was cut because if it was cut horizontal the option for a vbac is out the window sounds like you need a 2nd opinion though
