Waiting until marriage?

Hey ladies!
I was wondering who is/isn't planning on waiting until marriage to have sex and why/why not. I'm Christian but I've never been too strong on the whole waiting until marriage thing. I'm curious to see what you guys have to say and maybe help me to form stronger opinions! Thanks!!

I grew up in a Christian household but watched too many kids marry the minute they turned 18 so they could have sex and not feel guilty and then end up in miserable marriages-- I personally believe you test drive a car before you buy it.

At the time I lost mine, I wasn't a Christian,. After finding faith and later got married, I've only looked back on these experiences with regret. But beyond that, I honestly would advise to wait.

1) as you were raised Christian, you know it to be a sin. This isn't just some old fashioned rule. It was hard then, just as it's hard now. Sin puts separation between us and God and wanting to follow Him means at least TRYING to obey his commands.

2) during sex, your body releases oxytocin and serotonin, hormones which help you feel closer to another person. This can be great for a relationship like a marriage, but it can artificially create stronger feelings in an otherwise bad relationship. It makes break ups feel more like divorces, as you're now tied to someone else in more ways than one.

My husband hadn't had sex before me and seemingly, is better off for it. I have had one and it hasn't helped my marriage at all. I don't want to compare or to remember a past.  Jumping the gun by a few years just wasn't worth it in the long haul.

I went to church as a kid and through high school, but I don't consider myself to be a Christian. Honestly, saving myself until marriage was never a thought I had. God is worried about bigger things than your virgnity.

I'm a Christian and I did wait u till marriage and it felt really good to do that. People saying there are more important things than that, actually they're wrong 😌 sex before marriage is a sin so if you are a TRUE Christian you would find that just as bad as any other sin condemned in the Bible. If you're not really religious or you're just a 'Christian' by mouth/words then cool, fill your boots. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

No way. Sex is a vital part of the human experience. I not ashamed that I had sex before marriage. I don't regret my experiences. Sex isn't everything in my relationship, it can't be. We've been together 8+ years and just delivered our third baby together. I'm ridiculously happy. But sex is a part of my relationship, and if it sucked, it would be an issue for me

I don't have a religious preference. I had wanted to wait until marriage then my first serious boyfriend we lost our virginity together. I regret it and wish I would've waited longer or even until I was married.

We waited and I'm glad. Our relationship is stronger because of it.

You can always say "God has more important things to worry about than _______", but the truth is that Christianity is a lifetime commitment of following God - and that generally includes more than just the things you decide are important.

I waited based on principle, not on emotion. Marriage has a nature whose end is the love of the spouses and the procreation and education of children.  Sexual pleasure is actually a means to an end - children - not an end in and of itself.
