How to get rid of a milk blister??

I have my first milk blister...OW! How do I get rid of it? I googled it and it said to soak it in warm water and rub a warm wash cloth on it to try to get it to open, then either nurse or express milk. I popped it (probably a terrible idea) and tried to get milk to come out. It hurts so bad! I'm terrified to nurse or pump. What can I do to get rid of it?! Thanks!

I definitely poked a hole in mine and used a ton of lanolin. Also as painful as it was I nursed a lot on that side to make sure the duct didn't become blocked. I did do the warm compress before a feeding too. It went away after 5 or so days. You definitely don't want to do nothing becaus you don't want it to become a blocked duct or calloused. Check your latch and positioning to help prevent it from coming back.

I had one before and used lanolin after every feeding to help with the soreness and it helped my blister. & I don't think you are supposed to mess with a blister. Just let it go down on its on in case you get another. 😉
