When do you tell close family and friends?

I'm only 4 weeks but already told my mom and sister my test was positive while I was visiting them this weekend, does everyone wait until 12 weeks to tell close family and friends? First pregnancy, mom and sister know we've been TTC. I told my husband after 2 positive tests.

My husband and I are still in shock so we're waiting for my first doc's appointment at the end of the month to reconfirm. I've always  heard that you should wait till after your first trimester, but most likely waiting till April May to tell the fam & friends in person since we all don't live in the same state :)

Told all close family and close friend the moment it happened. But we have been trying for a long time. But I'm waiting for 10 weeks to announce on social media and such. We had a miscarriage at 11 weeks 3 days so I don't want to get everyone hyped up again. But I told my family and close friends because if it does happen again I'm going to definitely need the support.

I am 4 weeks now and we are telling our parents next weekend as it's mothers day we thought we would break the news early.  Both my best mates know as one is pregnant herself (6 weeks) and the other is a mother of 4 so knows what to expect. My Doctor isn't seeing me and I won't see the midwife until March 30th so needed someone to chat to about what to expect. After parents have been told we will probably do an announcement to friends and other family.

Im waiting for easter to tell fam and april fools for everyone else ill be just about 8 weeks on easter and over 8 on April fools i had a eptopic last march so kinda holding out til i kno little bean is cookin where they should be b4 i really get excited im a ball of anxiety right now

Because of a chemical and miscarriage last year, I'm waiting a bit longer to tell family. I hate to see them get excited only to be let down again.

I can't keep such exciting news to myself, I announced it right away… My feeling on the matter is that I want people to be happy with me in the good times and if the worst were to happen, I would want them to be by my side and grieve with me as well.  But, that being said, everyone is different and you have to follow your gut instinct… I have no history of miscarriage [this is my third and final baby] and I have never had any issues staying pregnant, but I could see people that have struggled wanting to be cautious and not announce so early....
