I'd rather we focus on just getting a reasonable conviction rate first. I also don't think mandatory minimums have been a very effective strategy in general, although if there were ever a situation where it was warranted, it's this one.

I don't understand how a man can rape a woman and serve let's say one year, but yet if a man gets caught with weed in his pocket he gets ten years?! Where's the logic in that?!

Sex offenders can be put on the registry for lots of things like peeing in public so i think it depends on what they were convicted of.  But rapists of course.  Some people get off way way too easy.

I'm unsure on what most convicted rapists get as far as jail time so I can't really comment on that as idk what I'm talking about , but I think that if it's a child you should never get out. Really I think if you kill anyone you shouldn't get out either but that's an entire different subject

100% it should be, they're a danger to everyone. So glad that no one has voted "no" yet.

For rapists yes. However sex offender could be a variety of things including just going outside to pee and someone getting offended. Personally I don't think that's a sexual offense and should not be punishable, but that's not my call.
