Bacterial Vaginosis ?

So my Pap smear came back and I have a bacterial Vaginosis infection. I had never hear of this before. I'm 13 weeks pregnant. I asked the lady that called from the doctors office what should I do. She said it was treated with antibiotics but she wasn't sure if the doctor wants to prescribe me some. I asked why wouldn't he prescribed me some she said she has  ask the doc and call me back. I don't have any symptoms but I'm nervous about it. I've been researching about it, it doesn't seem like it's a big deal but I also read that women who have it are at a greater risk of a preterm baby. Has anyone dealt with this and what was your experience?
