Anxiety medicine

Does anybody take Xanax? I'm currently on the highest dose of Lexapro, but I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow about changing to something stronger. I am still having severe panic and anxiety attacks on my current med and my anxiety is controlling my life. What are some medicines that are working for you? I know everybody is different. Also what are, if any, side effects of the meds you take.
