Break up?

My so (boyfriend of 1 year) does not try to contact me. We barely speak.. And we don't hangout anymore. And when we do, it's always at night and at his house. I know he isn't cheating. The problem is, he's depressed. 
But I can't help if he doesn't talk to me. He goes days without contacting me. I don't know what to do. And don't say "try talking with him". I have. He's told me he would contact me and hangout with me more. He won't. I don't know what to do besides just leave him for good. Anything else I should try? Maybe he just doesn't like me anymore.

If he's seriously depressed, and your only reason for leaving him is bc of his depression, that's super fucked up. Depression is something that can't be helped and it's hard on everyone involved. But it's a mental health issue and you should NEVER leave someone you love just bc they have a mental disorder. I have depression and I know, I know it gets so hard on my boyfriend but if he ever left me bc of and only bc of my depression I would be so hurt and upset. Get him therapy, get him medication, find someone he CAN talk to, get his some weed. Try to help him istead of focusing on how hard it is on you.

Leave. I was stuck in that cycle for 6 years thinking he would change and even bought a condo cause he said he would move in with me (never even slept over once). 
After we broke up I found out he joined the Air Force (something he always talked about doing but like everything else never did) and is now stationed across the globe. 
Me breaking up with him was the eye opener he needed to get his life figured out and for me to find true happiness instead of always trying to convince myself I was happy.
Don't get stuck for 6 years like I did. Go find your happiness and hopefully that will help him wake up and find his.

Just let him know your there for him when he's ready to talk to you. Just try to be supportive and not judgemental. I know it sucks but just be there for him even if he's pushing you away. Give him space but not too much.

Yea if you are young below age of 18... You may need to just be there for him as a friend.

If you believe in your heart he not cheating. I would focus on doing things to make myself happy and try to be there for him if you love him. I'm a fan of being there through thick or thin realizing relationships are like roller coasters. Depression is no joke especially depending on why he is depressed. Sometimes folks push u away When they need you the most. If he honestly not into anyone Else And love him don't just bail.
