Does this sound good for a baby food?

My MIL found this recipe she thought would be a good first baby food:

Chocolate Pudding

Banana
Avocado
A bit of honey
A little bit of dark chocolate

All blended. Is honey and chocolate okay to give to babies?

As a SLP who specializes in feeding therapy with pediatrics, this is not a good idea. You should not give honey to babies. You should also avoid chocolate, as well. It is best to do single flavors to help them adjust and to learn what allergies they may have. Hope this helps!

I wouldn't mix all those things as a first food. Babies need to try one thing at a time to see of they have an allergy.

Also I wouldn't give my child chocolate or honey.

On top of the tips to not do this i also read you sold try veggies first, let them get used to bitterness of vegetables then give fruits. It can help then to not be so picky apparently.

No honey until 1 year old at least. Recipe definitely a no go

I was told absolutely no honey. I personally wouldn't feed my baby chocolate either. I was also instructed to try one food at a time and could add another food after 3 days time if no reaction. Maybe start with just avocado only?

It even says right on the honey bottle to not give it to babies. And they don't need chocolate.

I was told by my health visitor not to give your baby honey, not sure why!

I think that would be a great question for your pediatrician as no two babies are the same
